The Night of Destiny or Laylat al-Qadr, is one of the highlights that mark the month of Ramadan . So when does it take place and what does it mean? Here is what you need to know for this Night of Destiny 2019 in France.

The Ramadan is the month of fasting which is one of the five pillars of the Islam. This is a particularly holy period of the Muslim calendar (Hijri). This one being based on the lunar cycles, it presents a discrepancy with the Gregorian calendar, this which explains why the dates vary from year to year.

This year, the Ramadan will therefore have started on April 2 2022 in France. Among the highlights of this month of fasting, we find the Night of Destiny (or Laylat al-Qadr). It is one of the most important nights of the Muslim religion since it commemorates the one during which the Koran would have been revealed to the prophet Muhammad by the archangel Gabriel.
