GE Healthcare & Boston Scientific to strengthen cardiac care in India

GE Healthcare, a leading global digital, data analytics & decision support tools provider, has recently announced collaboration with Boston Scientific, a global medical device manufacturer, to offer complete advanced interventional cardiac care solutions across India.

This collaboration will help offer easy access to treatment and is aimed at providing enhanced heart care for patients, in turn addressing the disease burden spreading at pace in the nation.

Apparently, this marks the first collaboration stint between two MedTech firms with a strong foothold in cardiology portfolios.

Boston Scientific’s innovative medical capabilities and devices coupled with the robust medical imaging systems and related software of GE Healthcare will assist diagnostics via monitoring and treatment of the cardiac patient-care pathway.

As per credible sources, GE Healthcare entered a similar partnership with Boston Scientific in Southeast Asia earlier this year to offer combined cardiology solutions to customers along with training and education.

Speaking on this latest development, Wipro GE HealthCare’s Managing Director, Dr Shravan Subramanyam stated that end-to-end cardiac care centers that offer top-class patient health outcomes are crucial for filling the industry gap and controlling the cardiac burden in India.

Shravan also claimed that with this collaboration with Boston Scientific, the firm intends to unlock the interventional cardiology potential, provide better heart care by increasing efficiency across the patient’s care pathway, and deliver precision care.

Manoj Madhavan, Managing Director of Boston Scientific in India, highlighted the vitality to work with clinicians and healthcare providers to know about the challenges that occur during care delivery and to offer customized solutions for better care to patients.

Notably, this collaboration is inclined towards addressing such challenges by offering healthcare professionals extended access to updated technologies and solutions for enhanced patient care.

Furthermore, both companies will be working together to provide training and education for healthcare professionals and spread awareness regarding the vascular imaging innovations within cardiac catheterization procedures, thereby empowering better patient outcomes.
