Holman announces investment in EV management software firm AmpUp

Global automotive services organization Holman has reportedly invested in AmpUp, a leading EV (electric vehicle) management software firm, through its venture capital division.

The collaboration is expected to consolidate the industry-leading fleet management services offered by Holman with AmpUp's technology platform.

This would help to aggregate charging insights with vehicle operating data, mitigate frauds, and curb data fragmentation risks.

Holman’s Director of Sustainability- Emily Graham- has pointed out that the rising adoption of EVs and their infrastructure will increase the significance of enhanced charging data visibility. This would optimize charging strategies and manage EV chargers effectively.

Graham added that the collaborative effort with tech leaders like AmpUp enables the company to integrate public and at-home charging insights with the complete vehicle operating data range. This allows fleet operators to streamline the EV transition and make insightful strategic decisions.

AmpUp CEO Thomas Sun lauded the industrial legacy and automotive expertise of Holman. Thomas believes that the company’s inherent technology will enable organizations to rapidly adopt smart-charging solutions and ease the implementation of electrification programs.

The product suite offered by AmpUp is expected to accelerate the EV transition for several fleet operators and Holman seeks to be a part of the company’s growth.

For the record, Holman is one of North America’s largest family-owned automotive service organizations. It has over 6,500 employees across the UK, Germany, and North America.

The company offers a wide variety of automotive-centric services including vehicle fabrication and upfitting, industry-leading fleet management and leasing, powertrain distribution and logistics services, component manufacturing and productivity solutions, commercial and personal insurance, and risk management.

On the other hand, AmpUp offers technology that facilitates charging station management for property owners and businesses. Some of the company’s major customers include Citizens Bank, CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, JLL, and Holiday Inn.
